Our first work day for Manatee County Habitat for Humanity’s 25th Interfaith Build is Saturday January 11, 7:30 am-noon. We are excited about this opportunity to serve, and welcome family and friends to join us!
Volunteers 16 and older are needed at the home site at 2207 11th St. W., Bradenton to work alongside experienced volunteers who will guide you through tasks such as painting, planting, hammering, and loading and unloading materials; no experience is needed. You may also volunteer to help provide snacks for workers. Sign up in the Sanctuary lobby, or by calling the office at 941-792-3141.
As a participant, you will learn about Habitat’s advanced construction techniques that dramatically reduce maintenance and energy costs for homeowners, while keeping construction cost low. You are asked to sign a waiver form, wear closed-toe shoes, and observe other work-place practices described in this information sheet provided by Habitat's Program Manager Barbara Slater.
Volunteers are also welcome at the home site on other Saturdays, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with advance sign up.
